The Book
One of the most influential books to have come out of the Open Source Movement is called “The Cathedral and the Bazaar” written by Eric Raymond.
Essentially it compares two models for producing software: the Cathedral model, represented by large homogeneous organisations like Microsoft; and the Bazaar model, used by the Open Source movement.
